Throughout history, Serbia, and the Serbian people, have indeed been recognized and respected on the international stage, especially during during the Cold War.

Under Josip Broz Tito, Yugoslavia became a leading member of the Non-Aligned Movement, navigating a middle ground between the Soviet Bloc and the Western powers. Belgrade, the capital, played an important role in international diplomacy during this period.

President Gerald R. Ford visited Belgrade, Yugoslavia, and met with President Josip Broz Tito 50 years ago, on August 3-4, 1975.  During the official visit, they discussed various matters. Tito stressed that Israel needed to withdraw from occupied Arab territories and recognize Palestinian independence, surprising US President.

Now everything is different. Today, President Trump doesn’t visit Belgrade, and Serbia will be hit with a 35 per cent tariff. Serbia exported ammunition to Israel, and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić confirmed that Serbia had been selling ammunition to Israel since the start of the Gaza War.

While Vučić has sought to project an image of a strong, independent leader, his actions have sparked debate about Serbia’s commitment to democratic values and its standing in the international community. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is acting like a puppet of the EU and USA, and he is tearing down what remained of Serbia’s honor in the world. It’s shamefull.
